GETTING HERE
If you get lost trying to find Mitchelstown then we suggest that you let someone else drive! Just in case, here are some helpful directions and alternative means of getting here!
Please car pool and use public transport where possible.
BY BUS
We are delighted to have Travelmaster back on board as our official transport partner for INDIE23. You can book the Cork City Shuttle and multiple Nationwide Return Routes via the Travelmaster Website.
The bus drop off is located at The Firgrove Hotel, a short walk from the site. There is no bus access to the main car park, this applies to mini busses as well as larger buses. All bus companies must request a stop approval to drop patrons at the event.

BY CAR
Mitchelstown is located just off the M8 Motorway between Cork and Dublin. It is approximately 50km from Cork (40 Mins) and 200km from Dublin (2 Hrs), these are of course traffic dependent getting from your front door!
From Dublin
Follow the M7 out of Dublin southbound. Once through the toll plaza, travel for 4km and take the slip road for Cork. Follow this for approximately one hour until you see the first sign for Mitchelstown. Take this exit. Turn right at the first roundabout crossing back over the motorway, straight through the second and left at the third signposted Mitchelstown. Continue on this road for 3km and you will see the INDIEPENDENCE Music & Arts Festival Site on your right hand side. You will need to pass the site to the roundabout to turn and enter the site without crossing the line of traffic. Simple
From Cork
Follow the M8 northbound from Cork City. Head through the toll plaza. It should take you approximately twenty minutes from the toll plaza to the Mitchelstown exit (If you miss it, take the next one and follow the Dublin instructions from the exit above). At the top of the slip road, continue straight through the roundabout signposted Mitchelstown. Continue on this road (Its a 60km zone with a speed camera so slow down!) until you reach the next roundabout, again, straight through signposted Mitchelstown. This will take you down the main street of the town. Continue straight through the town until you come to a roundabout on the far side, take the third exit, signposted Dublin and the INDIEPENDENCE Music & Arts Festival site is on your left hand side.
From Galway
We’ll assume you can get to Limerick so from the ring road / motorway having passed through the tunnel, follow the signs for Waterford. Once you come off the motorway, continue to follow the signs for Waterford onto the national road. Travel for 5-8 minutes along this road and you will see a right turn signposted Mitchelstown. You continue on this road through the towns of Caherconlish, Hospital, Knocklong and Ballylanders. After Ballylanders, you are 12-15 minutes from Mitchelstown. As you approach the town, you will come to a roundabout, take the first exit, signposted Dublin and the INDIEPENDENCE Music & Arts Festival site is on your left hand side. Travel time from Limerick is about 50 Minutes.
From Waterford
This is not the best road in the world! From Waterford, follow the signs for Dungarvan, upon entering Dungarvan, follow signs for Lismore. Just before entering Lismore, there is a right turn signposted Fermoy / Ballyduff. Take this right turn and follow the road for approximately 20 minutes (its a bad road – slow down!) until you see a right turn signposted Kilworth. Take this right turn and follow through Kilworth until you reach a T Junction. Take the right turn here signposted Mitchelstown. When you reach the motorway roundabout, follow the directions From Cork above from this point.
BY PLANE
Our runway is currently under construction but Mitchelstown is easily accessed from any of Cork (45 Mins), Dublin (2.5 Hrs) or Shannon (90 Mins) Airports.
